On reading the title "Pacific Jewelry and Adornment", you automatically presume this means most of The South Pacific Islands across Polynesia. But in fact it is very far from.
This book should really be titled "Papua New Guinea and Melanesia Jewelry and Adornment."
As over 3/4`s of this book is on this subject only.
Most of he photographs are historical black & white.
The short last 1/4 of the book is mainly on New Zealand Maori adornment.
There is a very pitiful 2 pages on Hawai`ian jewelry.
And about the same on jewelry from Tahiti and French Polynesia.
This is extremely disappointing. As there is so much interesting jewelry from The South Pacific Islands of the Pacific, that should of been included.
From The Hawai`ian Islands, Society Islands, Marquesas Islands, Cook Islands, Samoa and Tonga etc.
