In his brilliant pop-up books, Parisian graphic designer Marion Bataille took us through the alphabet with ABC3D, and from zero to ten in Numero; here we go from 1 to 10 and at the same time from 10 to 1 (or "01"), counting up and counting down simultaneously. Ideal for adults and prereaders to share, these wonderfully simple pages of big block numbers open out and flip faces—"01" reverses to become "10," 2 pivots to become 9, 3 doubles over into 8, 4 swaps a diagonal with 7, and so on—until you reach 10, at which point you can close the book or work your way back to the beginning again. The little square book then slides into a bright red die-cut slipcase.
