This book, published in conjunction with an exhibition at Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Osaka, presents the lives and works of Japanese sculptor Shingu Susumu and Italian architect Renzo Piano, born in the same year and collaborators since 1989. Back then, Piano, having just won the international competition to design the passenger terminal building for Kansai International Airport, asked Shingu to create something that would “make the streams of air visible”. The result was ‘Boundless Sky’, which was installed on the international departure level. Since that time, these two brilliant designers and artists have worked together on numerous projects around the world.
